Saturday Jan 28th

Not much to report, Jay has been on his first interview to St. Louis and it went well so unless something else comes up soon I have a feeling we might find our selves in St. Louis next year.
Matthew is doing great, these tubes have made a huge difference, his walking has really taken off so I think the balance is better and the babbling has picked up so I think he is mimicking and trying to make more sounds with his voice.
I really don't have much to say, we are leaving for Greenville Monday afternoon so I can go to another appointment with my doctor and will get to hopefully catch up with some friend there Monday night...and otherwise, our routine is pretty much followed.
The only big challenge is diet, I am running out of ideas and things to try with Matthew. To move up to the next room and get out of the infant room, Matthew has to be drinking from a sippy cup, which he is doing at Daycare, not so much at home, but I am trying to be a bit more consistent with only giving him his sippy cup at home and not giving into the bottle...the other challenge is coming up with food ideas for day-care. He will have a snack at 9-930ish and lunch at 1130ish. THose meals need to pick-up foods since the staff doesn't have the time to feed with a spoon all the kids. So the challenge is what to feed him. I have had success with sandwiches and egos. Mild success with peas and carrots from a can, but not much success. I have bought some almond butter to try since peanut butter is such a huge no-no in schools so will try that. Cream cheese and Jelly was  huge misfire, he did not like it and just made a huge mess of the bread by putting in his mouth and then spitting out and to really make a huge mess, to then squeeze and play with it in his hands...then he put his hands in his hair and head so it was huge sticky mess...the only one hugely excited about it was Queenie who basically got to eat the whole thing even if it had some Matthew saliva and cooties...
So what else? I bought some of these gerber graduates prepacked meals with Ravioli, but my concern is that I was using day care to try and get one serving of veggies b/c he just seems to not eat much of the veggies or fruits these days...so yeah, any ideas on things I can try...we did scrambled eggs with cheese last night and he did well with that...so I guess that is something I can do...so what am i up to...sandwich, eggs, and egos...and hopefully if I send some greenbeans or peas and carrots a few of those will be eaten...

For the snack, I bought the teddy grahams, b/c I was worried about the honey flavored but he did ok as long as I broke the graham crackers in half so he didn't choke on them...that is at least another snack to add to our things he likes/tolerates...
ok, he appears to be done and now throwing the peas and carrots on the floor...so guess I gotta go...
Any tips or ideas on foods would be greatly appreciated.
Have a great weekend!
